Melissa Van Leeuwen
Born and raised on the beautiful beaches of Maui, Hawaii, Melissa has called the Utah mountains home since 2005. She grew up in a family with a passion for Real Estate and built her first home at just 19 years old. Her brother (also a Realtor) heads a top land development firm and her sister is a leading Interior Designer in the islands. Melissa attended the University of Hawaii where she also embraced every course available in Interior Design. This education and passion for staying up with the latest trends has proved to be a huge distinction as she assists her clients in preparing their homes for sale in todays market.
Melissa spent the start of her Real Estate career in Newport Beach, CA working with a forward-thinking Real Estate acquisition firm, specializing in master planned communities and condo conversion projects. This subsequently led her to enter the Residential Real Estate market with uber excitement. During the past 14 years she has been part of several top producing teams and even earned monthly awards in her previous company for being a top producer individually. Melissa spent five years as a Flight Attendant which ultimately fostered her biggest passion: travel. She takes every opportunity to travel the world and learn of other cultures, cuisine and traditions. She currently has passport stamps from over 70 countries and has a life goal to visit every country around the world. She embraced the opportunity to share this love with Utah when she owned a home décor boutique specializing in treasures hand created and imported from Bali, Indonesia.
With a commitment to bettering our local communities she has served on the Macy’s Community Advisory Council, been a helping hand in several nonprofits including: Airline Ambassadors, Helping Kids With Cancer and working with high risk teens to get them back on track. She has adapted this outlook especially while raising her two daughters. From a young age she has fostered the love of serving others within them and continues to help them create an annual give back opportunity. Raising her family in Utah has fostered a love for hiking, biking, skiing and exploring historic small towns and back country.
